Welcome
Sharecase is a place for real achievements — big wins, small wins, first tries, and comebacks. It's where students post what they've actually done, mentors and supporters cheer them on, and every accomplishment gets to speak for itself.
These Community Guidelines set the ground rules for how everyone shows up here. Read them, follow them, and help us keep Sharecase a place where students can share their real story safely.
What We Celebrate
- Real accomplishments — academic, athletic, artistic, service, personal, professional
- Effort, not just outcomes — the tough seasons, the second attempts, the growth
- Cheering each other on — this is a supportive community, not a comparison contest
- Verified achievements — coaches, teachers, mentors, and organizations who back up what students say they've done
Our Core Values
- Be real. Post what you actually did. No inflating, no fabricating.
- Be kind. Cheer for others. If you can't say something supportive, don't say it.
- Be safe. Protect your own information and respect others' privacy.
- Be honest. Real names, real profiles. No impersonation.
What's Not Allowed on Sharecase
The following are prohibited on Sharecase. Violations will result in content removal, warnings, account suspension, or permanent ban depending on severity.
Harmful Content
- Hate speech, discrimination, or slurs based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
- Harassment, cyberbullying, threats, or intimidation of any person
- Content that promotes, glorifies, or provides instructions for self-harm or suicide
- Content that promotes eating disorders, extreme dieting, body-shaming, “pro-ana” or “pro-mia” material, or dangerous weight-loss behavior
- Content depicting or promoting violence against people or animals
Sexual Content
- Nudity, sexual content, or sexually suggestive material
- Content that sexualizes minors in any way — this is a zero-tolerance category and will be reported to authorities
- Requests for or offers of sexual content
Dangerous Content
- Promotion or sale of illegal drugs, weapons, or controlled substances
- Content that promotes dangerous or illegal activities
- Terrorism, extremism, or violent ideology
Illegal Content
- Anything that violates federal, state, or local law
- Copyright or trademark infringement
- Content that infringes intellectual property or academic honesty rules
Deceptive Behavior
- Fake accounts or impersonation of another person or organization
- Fake achievements — fabricating awards, test scores, credentials, or accomplishments you didn't actually earn
- Academic dishonesty — presenting plagiarized work as your own, or claiming credit for group work you didn't contribute to
- AI-generated content passed off as your own — if you use AI tools to generate an essay, image, art piece, or other content, you must disclose it. Presenting AI work as your original achievement is not allowed.
- Faking or claiming verifications you did not receive from a legitimate coach, teacher, mentor, or organization
- Multiple accounts — one person, one account per role. No coordinated inauthentic behavior, no selling or trading accounts
- Spam, scams, phishing, or misleading links
- Manipulating engagement (buying followers, fake cheers, etc.)
Privacy Violations
- Sharing another person's personal information without consent — including addresses, phone numbers, ID numbers, private email, family details, or anything that identifies where someone lives, studies, or works. This includes doxxing.
- Sharing photos or videos of others without their permission, especially minors
- Recording, screenshotting, or redistributing private conversations
- Reposting Sharecase content off-platform in ways that identify or expose another user — even public Sharecase posts should not be re-shared elsewhere in a way that could expose or harm the person who posted them (per our Terms of Use)
Under-13 Users
Sharecase is for users 13 and older. If we discover that a user is under 13, we will delete the account and any associated data in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you know or suspect a user on Sharecase is under 13, please report them so we can take action.
Adult ↔ Minor Interactions
Sharecase is a platform where adults (Mentors, Supporters, and Recruiters) interact with students, some of whom are minors. To keep the platform safe, adult users must follow additional rules:
All adult users must:
- Keep all conversations focused on academic, professional, or mentorship topics
- Never request or share personal contact information (phone, address, personal email, social media) with a minor
- Never request in-person meetings without a parent or guardian's involvement
- Never send, request, or engage with any inappropriate content
Adult users must not:
- Send private messages to minors that are romantic, sexual, or personal in nature
- Attempt to move conversations off Sharecase to private channels
- Use their role to gain trust for exploitative purposes
- Post content that would be inappropriate in a school or professional setting
Violations will result in immediate account termination and reporting to appropriate authorities where required by law.
Off-Platform Contact and Meeting in Person
Sharecase is a place for online mentorship, connection, and celebration — not a platform for arranging offline meetups.
- Minors should never meet a Sharecase connection in person without a parent or guardian present and aware. If a mentor, supporter, recruiter, or peer suggests otherwise, report them.
- Minors should not share personal contact information (phone, address, personal email, social media) with other Sharecase users.
- All users should keep interactions on-platform. Attempting to move a Sharecase relationship to private channels — especially when involving a minor — is a red flag and may indicate a safety concern.
Your Responsibility to Report
If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines:
- Report it in-app using the Report button (three-dot menu on any post, comment, message, or profile)
- Block the user if they're bothering you (three-dot menu on their profile)
- Contact us at legal@sharecase.app for anything urgent or that doesn't fit the in-app options
Reports are reviewed by our moderation team. You will not be told what action was taken (to protect the reported user's privacy), but we take every report seriously.

How We Enforce
We take a graduated approach based on severity:
- Content removal — post, comment, or message is taken down
- Warning — you're notified that your content violated guidelines, with a chance to improve
- Temporary suspension — account paused for a set period
- Permanent ban — account terminated, unable to rejoin
- Legal reporting — for illegal content (especially child sexual abuse material), we will report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement as required by law
Some violations (sexual content involving minors, credible threats of violence, CSAM, or adult ↔ minor safety violations) result in immediate permanent ban with no warning.
Appeals
If you believe your account was suspended or content removed in error, you can appeal by emailing legal@sharecase.app within 30 days. We'll review and respond.
Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these Community Guidelines as Sharecase grows and as we learn from our community. We'll notify users of material changes. Continued use of Sharecase after changes means you accept the updated guidelines.
